Whether or not you think war is the answer, most people would agree that those individuals who join the military -- many in search of a better education and future for themselves -- deserve praise and respect. The sad truth is, many of our country's enlisted try to make a difference to civilians across the planet, oftentimes traveling overseas to dangerous areas ... and many of those individuals return with injuries that will change their lives.

Adaptive Adventures -- a non-profit organization based in Evergreen that uses year-round sports and recreation to help improve the lives of people with disabilities (www.adaptiveadventures.org) -- is partnering tonight with Brunswick Zone XL, 9225 Kimmer Drive in Lone Tree, to host Bowling for America's Heroes. Appearances by sports star Erik Weihenmayer plus Mammoths and Broncos players will round off an evening of bowling, laser tag, door prizes and a silent auction. Proceeds will go toward a special Adaptive Adventures program, geared specifically toward recently injured armed-forces personnel.

Stop by Brunswick Zone XL from 5 to 8 p.m., fork over $50 and prepare to relive pieces of your childhood while helping out a very worthy cause. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. For information, call 303-792-2695 or visit http://www.adaptiveadventures.org/aboutUs/events/brunswick/brunswick-bowling-fundraiser.html.
